Characterization of Flow Parameters in Shale Nano-Porous Media Using Pore Network Model: A Field Example from Shale Oil Reservoir in Songliao Basin, China

The pore-throat radius of the shale oil reservoir is extremely small, and it difficult to accurately obtain absolute permeability oil–water two-phase relative actual through conventional core experiments. However, these parameters are very important for numerical simulation. In this paper, a method characterizing flow based on pore network model that considers differential pressure diffusion proposed. Firstly, digital was reconstructed using focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy (FIB-SEM) from Gulong in Songliao Basin, China, extracted. Secondly, quasi-static single-phase equations considering were established model. Finally, parameters, permeability, curves calculated, respectively. results show distribution mainly concentrated nanometer scale; mean 87 nm, throat 41 coordination number 3.97. calculated 0.000124 mD, which approximately twice without diffusion. irreducible water saturation 0.4, residual 0.35. proposed paper can provide an approach similar reservoirs.
